When French chemist Louis Pasteur decided it was a good idea to heat wine in 1856, winemakers were horrified. Little did they know he was about to discover pasteurisation, a process that would go on to change the dairy industry forever. From one good idea came a panacea for generations to benefit from the mass production and distribution of safe dairy products. 150 years ago, pioneer Louis couldn’t have imagined the multitude of ways we now utilise and consume dairy.
